Like commissioned art, it can’t return to a shelf, so change-of-mind returns can’t be accommodated on custom, OOAK, premium custom, or sale items. This is standard for made-to-order studios worldwide, and it’s how we guarantee you never receive a returned or refurbished doll.

How to change her eye color, the right way

  1. Hold her head gently but securely in one hand and support her body with the other — never let the head take the strain alone.
  2. Pull the string straight out, firmly and smoothly, in one confident motion until you feel a soft click.
  3. Release slowly and let the string glide back. Her eyes settle into the next color and gaze.
A firm pull string is normal — by design, not by defect. Every authentic Blythe mechanism is intentionally set firm to prevent accidental pulls and to protect the delicate eye mechanism inside her head. If your string feels tight on arrival, that is the sign of a healthy, correctly assembled doll, and it is not covered as damage. Simply pull firmer — straight out, never sideways, never with repeated short tugs — while supporting the head and body as described above.

Why can’t custom dolls be returned?
Each custom Blythe is handcrafted from brand-new, premium-grade vinyl exclusively for your order — face carved, makeup hand-painted, hair rooted strand by strand. Like commissioned artwork, it can’t be resold as new, so custom, OOAK, premium custom and sale items are final sale. The upside for you: no doll we ship has ever been owned, returned or refurbished.
How long do I have to cancel my order?
One hour from purchase. Our artisans begin production immediately, which is how we keep handcrafting times short — but it also means the cancellation window is genuinely 60 minutes. Sale items can’t be cancelled. Email [email protected] with your order number right away.
My doll arrived damaged. What exactly do you need from me?
Three things within 24 hours of delivery: photos of the damage, photos of the box and inner packaging (keep them — don’t throw anything away), and your order number. Send them to [email protected] and we’ll approve a free replacement or full refund, usually within 1–2 business days.
My tracking says “Delivered” but I don’t have the package.
First, check with household members, neighbors and your building’s mail area, and contact the local carrier office — the vast majority of scanned-but-missing packages appear within 3 days. Once a carrier records a successful delivery scan, ownership transfers to you, so post-delivery loss or theft isn’t covered. We recommend secure delivery addresses and enabling tracking notifications at checkout.
How long does a refund take once approved?
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 7–14 business days, and your bank may take a few additional days to post it. You’ll receive email confirmation the moment we release the funds.
Who pays for return shipping?
If we made the mistake — damage in transit or a wrong item — we cover 100% of every cost. For approved change-of-mind returns on eligible non-custom items, you cover return shipping and original shipping fees aren’t refundable.
What if my order never arrives at all?
If your order hasn’t reached you within 45 days of shipment (allow 2–5 days of handcrafting first), contact us for a full refund or a free reshipment — your choice. Typical delivery is far faster: 7–12 business days for most countries.
My doll’s pull string feels stiff. Is it broken?
No — it is working exactly as designed. Every authentic Blythe pull string is intentionally firm to prevent accidental pulls and protect the eye mechanism. Hold the head gently in one hand, support the body with the other, then pull the string straight out, firmly and smoothly, until you feel a click, and release slowly. Never pull sideways or with repeated short tugs. A firm string is a sign of a correctly assembled doll and is not considered damage.
Do I agree to this policy when I order?
Yes. Completing checkout confirms you’ve read and accepted this Refund & Return Policy, including the final-sale terms for custom, OOAK and sale items. It’s linked on every product page, at checkout and in your order confirmation so there are never surprises.
The formal bits. This Refund & Return Policy forms part of your purchase agreement with This Is Blythe and is accepted at checkout. Returns require prior written authorization; unauthorized returns cannot be processed. Refunds are issued only to the original payment method. Eligible return items must be unopened in original sealed packaging with valid proof of purchase, requested within 30 days of delivery; the customer is responsible for return shipping and tracking, and original shipping fees are non-refundable. Transit-damage and wrong-item claims must be submitted within 24 hours of the carrier’s delivery scan with photographic evidence including original packaging. This Is Blythe is not responsible for packages lost, stolen or missing after a successful carrier delivery scan, for delays caused by customs or carriers, or for incorrect shipping addresses provided at checkout. Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory rights you hold in your country of residence. We may update these terms at any time; the version published at the time of your order applies.
