Your privacy, explained simply

Privacy Policy

This page explains what information we collect when you visit or shop with This Is Blythe, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices and rights you have. No jargon, no surprises.

Last updated: July 2026
The short version

What you should know

Here is the essence — the full sections below have the detail, but this is the heart of it:

  • We collect only what we need to run the shop, process your order, and improve your experience.
  • We never sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
  • Payment details are handled by secure, PCI-compliant processors — we don’t store your full card number.
  • You can ask to access, correct, or delete your data, or opt out of marketing, at any time.
  • We use cookies to make the site work and to understand what’s useful; you control them in your browser.

01 Who we are & scope

This Is Blythe operates ThisIsBlythe.com and respects your privacy regarding any information we collect while running our website. This policy applies to the personal information we handle as the data controller when you browse, create an account, contact us, or place an order.

It works alongside our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.

02 Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what we gather automatically, and what comes from trusted service providers.

Information you give us

  • Account details such as your name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Order information including shipping and billing address, phone number, and the items you buy or customize.
  • Messages you send us through the contact form, email, live chat, or reviews.

Information we collect automatically

  • Technical data your browser and our servers share — browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each request.
  • For logged-in users and people who leave comments, we may log Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
  • Usage data about how visitors navigate the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).

We collect personal information only insofar as it is necessary or appropriate for the purpose of your interaction with us. You can always decline to provide personal information, though some site features may not work without it.

03 How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process, craft, and ship your order, and keep you updated on its status.
  • Provide customer support and answer your questions.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the website and our products.
  • Understand how visitors use the site so we can make it better; we may publish aggregated, non-identifying trends.
  • Send you service messages, and — only if you’ve opted in — occasional updates about new features, restocks, or promotions.
  • Prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations.

If you send us a request or feedback, we may reference it to clarify or respond, and to help support other customers — without exposing your private details publicly.

05 When we share information

We never rent or sell your personal information. We share it only with the parties needed to run the shop, and only as much as required:

  • Service providers — payment processors, shipping and fulfillment partners, email and chat tools, and analytics providers — who are bound to protect it and use it only on our behalf.
  • Legal and safety — in response to a subpoena, court order, or lawful government request, or where we believe in good faith it’s needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of This Is Blythe, our customers, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if the business is acquired, merged, or (unlikely) enters bankruptcy, customer information may be among the transferred assets; any acquirer would remain bound by this policy.

Some of our providers may be located outside your home country (see Section 11 on international transfers).

06 Cookies & tracking

A cookie is a small string of information a website stores on your device and reads when you return. We use cookies to recognize you, remember your preferences (like currency and cart), keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies before using our site, with the drawback that some features may not work properly. Advertising or analytics partners featured on our pages may also set their own cookies; this policy covers our use of cookies, not theirs — please see the relevant partner’s policy for details.

07 Payments & security

Checkout is encrypted and processed by trusted, PCI-DSS-compliant payment providers. We do not store your full card number on our own servers. We take all measures reasonably necessary to protect against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of the information we hold.

No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data and to limit access to those who need it to do their jobs.

08 How long we keep data

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here — for example, to fulfill your order, provide support, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to remove your data sooner (see Section 9).

09 Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights over your personal information:

AccessAsk for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
CorrectAsk us to fix information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
DeleteAsk us to erase your data, subject to legal retention needs.
Opt outUnsubscribe from marketing at any time via the link in any email or by contacting us.
Object / restrictAsk us to limit or stop certain processing of your data.
PortabilityRequest your data in a portable format where applicable.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We’ll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

10 Children’s privacy

Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age at which consent is required in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11 International transfers

We serve customers worldwide, and some of our employees, contractors, and service providers are located outside your home country. By using our site, you consent to the transfer of your information to them. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place to protect your data when it crosses borders.

12 Changes to this policy

Most changes will be minor, but we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time at our discretion. The “last updated” date above shows when the current version took effect. We encourage you to check this page periodically; if you have an account, we may also alert you to significant changes. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
