How many Blythe dolls do you have? What are their names?:
Right now I have 13 Blythes: Binne, Babette, Sid, Leeloo, Nina, Robin, Church, Penny, Muffin, Margaret, Roxy and 2 unnamed Blythes in pieces.
Favorite thing about Blythe:
I can't name just one. Blythe has brought so much joy to my life. The best is that I've met many wonderful, creative people whose friendships I treasure. Blythe has pushed me to do things I never thought I would ever do, like travel to New York City for a Blythe meet. I enjoyed taking photos of Blythe so much that I started taking pictures of other things and now I rarely leave the house without my camera. And through customizing Blythe I've found the perfect hobby, relaxing and rewarding.
What got you started with Blythe?:
I helped my Grandmother sell a kenner Blythe. I loved the doll's large eyes and found her so unique. Some years later, I heard that Blythe was being reproduced and decided I really should buy one. I discovered the This is Blythe forum and did some research. I bought my first Blythe, a Pow Wow Poncho.
Do you collect any other dolls or toys?:
I do have quite a few small ball joint dolls. I also have some licca and una. And I have a ton of re-ment because it is so much fun to photograph with my dolls.
What are your hobbies?:
Photography, although I'm not great and really should learn more, I do love it. Customizing, especially rerooting, Blythe dolls is one of my biggest hobbies. I also recently built a doll house to use when photographing my smaller dolls. Collecting and making furniture and accessories for that is a fun way to spend time.
How long have you been on TIB?
I believe I stumbled upon This is Blythe in the beginning of 2004.
Who are some of your favorite TIB-ers?:
I've met way too many terrific people through TIB to list them all. So, I will say that the first person that pops into my head when I think of TIB is Melissa! of Puchicollective. She was the person who seemed to always be there for me when I needed help with Blythe. She is one of the most generous people I've ever met. She was always happy to share her customizing methods, she walked me through replacing a kenner pelvis/legs when I was a nervous wreck...I could go on and on.
