Every November the same question lands in my inbox. So here is everything, the photos, the numbers, the complaints, and the places you can check without taking our word for it.

Hi, I am Jenna. I look after customer happiness at This Is Blythe, which means I read every message, every chat rating and every review that comes in. All of them. The five-star ones that make me tear up at my desk, and the two-star ones that make me pick up my coffee and go find out what went wrong.
Around this time every year, my inbox changes. The questions stop being about hair colours and start being about trust. “Is This Is Blythe legit?” “Will she really look like the photo?” “If I order now, will she be under the tree?” People are about to spend real money on a gift for someone they love, often from a shop they found ten minutes ago, and they want to be sure.
I understand that completely. So instead of answering one email at a time, I am putting everything in one place. This is my honest round-up of This Is Blythe reviews: what our buyers say, what their photos show, where you can read reviews we cannot touch, the complaints we got wrong and fixed, and the dates you need for Christmas 2026.
If you only have a minute, here is the short version.
The 60-second verdict
Now the long version of our This Is Blythe reviews round-up. Grab a tea. There are a lot of photos.
Table of Contents
Before I show you a single quote, you deserve to know where our This Is Blythe reviews come from. A review is only worth something if you know who controls it.
When an order is delivered, the buyer gets an invitation to review it. Those reviews appear on product pages and on our main This Is Blythe reviews page, plus a longer archive on customer reviews. This is where the 8,536+ verified This Is Blythe reviews come from. It is our platform, so I always tell people: do not stop here. Use it as a starting point.
These are the This Is Blythe reviews I point sceptical shoppers to first. We also sell through an Etsy storefront, and Etsy has strict rules: you can only review a shop after you have bought from it, and the seller cannot edit, hide or delete what you write. At the time of writing there are 129 reviews there, averaging 4.98 stars. 127 are five stars and two are four stars.

Etsy also lets you see patterns. 21 of those 129 reviewers bought from us more than once, and 13 specifically mention that the doll looked exactly like the listing photos. I did not write those numbers. Etsy’s page counts them.
After every support chat, customers can rate the conversation. Those ratings are some of my favourite things to read, partly because they are about my team and partly because they are so honest. One buyer named Yvette wrote, “I love Jenna. I was nervous about ordering and she made me feel secure.” I keep that one on a sticky note.
These are people we do not employ, filming our dolls on camera, live, out of the box. I will link the videos further down, and you can watch every second of them.
From Forbes to the BBC to The Guardian, our dolls and our customers have shown up in 30+ press features over the years. You can see them on our press page.
December is the month when most of our dolls stop being dolls and become gifts. It is also the month when the reviews get emotional. Here are a few from last season that I still think about.
Laura Ellen ordered a doll for her sister and reviewed it on December 27, two days after Christmas.
My sister loved it! Packaged very well to avoid damage.Laura Ellen, verified Etsy buyer, December 2025

Here is a short film our team made from Christmas reviews like these.

This Is Blythe Christmas doll reviews
A father named Joseph left two reviews in the last week of December. The first said, “My daughter loved her Blythe doll!” The second, for a little kimono outfit, said, “My daughter loved this item! Fast delivery.” Two days after Christmas, with the wrapping paper probably still on the floor, he took the time to tell strangers his daughter was happy. I find that very moving.
And then there is Libby. Her review is two lines long and it is the one I quote most.
This was a gift for my daughter who is 18 and collects dolls. She is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.Libby, verified buyer
The doll Libby chose was Tania, who has long black hair with a straight fringe, a pale matte face and a little pouty mouth. Tania is one of our bestsellers, and another mum named Tiffani bought her for her daughter too.

A conversation piece. That is exactly what you want from a gift. Not something that disappears into a drawer by February, but something people walk into a room and ask about.
The question I get most is simple: “Will she look like the picture?” The best answer is not my answer. It is the photos buyers take on their own kitchen tables, bookshelves and sofas, in their own light, with their own cats in the background.
She is absolutely perfect!! She looks just like how she did in the pictures and I have had so much fun dressing her up and taking pictures of her! She is also one of the Blythe dolls that looks very similar to me as well.Megan, verified Etsy buyer

“Looks very similar to me” is a phrase that comes up again and again in our reviews, and it is the reason we built a free tool called Which Blythe Doll Looks Like Me?. You upload a photo and it suggests dolls with your hair colour, skin tone and face shape. It is free, and honestly, it is a lovely way to choose a gift too. Use a photo of the person you are buying for.

Lisa’s review is the one I send to anyone worried about shipping a doll with long hair across the world.
Perfection. This gorgeous girl arrived in mint condition, each part securely wrapped. Once unpacked the doll was in perfect condition, even the hair! Amazing quality, so pleased I found this seller. I recommend 100% without hesitation.Lisa C., United Kingdom

A wonderful doll. Everything arrived perfectly. The quality really impressed me. The face details, the soft hair, and the outfit are all beautifully made. She looks even better in person than in the photos.Verified buyer, Norway

So happy with my first custom Blythe doll. She is so beautiful and has a really thick head of silky hair.Verified buyer, United States, May 2026

Something I did not expect when I started this job: customers write about people, not companies. They mention names. Mine, quite often, and my colleague Sabrina’s. They write the way you talk about the person at your local bakery who remembers your order.
Jack, a brand-new collector in Germany, wrote this:
I’m new to Blythes and Jenna helped me through from the start. Never tired of my incessant questions. She figured out exactly what I was looking for and made it happen. Thank you Jenna and your team, my new custom doll has a good home here.Jack, Germany

For the record, Jack, there is no such thing as an incessant question. Ask me fifty. Ask me which hair colour photographs better in winter light. I love it.
Rihanna in Australia wrote what might be the most generous sentence in our entire archive:
I can’t say enough good things about this merchant. If I could give a twenty star rating, I would. Jenna made sure I got everything I wanted and more, especially quality and phenomenal customer service.Rihanna A., Australia

Anyone can be dazzled once. What tells you the most about a shop, and what makes This Is Blythe reviews worth reading, is who comes back. On Etsy alone, 21 of 129 reviewers have bought from us more than once.
Denise is the queen of this list. She has reviewed so many dolls that my team knows her by name.
Beautiful doll. Packaged so nicely and came early. I’ve bought many dolls from this seller and I’ve never loved a store more. Anyone who wants a Blythe doll should start here.Denise, verified Etsy buyer

Then there is Gail, who discovered our tiny doll shoes and never recovered. “Just love the boots. The pink ones are the perfect pink,” she wrote. A week later: “Love the boots. So cute and dainty.” A month after that: “Love these cute shoes. I have them in every color.” Gail, we salute you.
Chrissy wrote, “She arrived packed so carefully, she is absolutely gorgeous! Every detail, her face, her clothing. Can’t say enough. This purchase made me buy another one!” And Donna told us about her family’s third doll.

Jennifer in the United States summed up the repeat-buyer feeling perfectly: “The hair is so soft and thick and the eye colors are gorgeous. Quality is better than expected. I will definitely buy more Blythes to add to my collection!”

I promised honesty, so here are the critical This Is Blythe reviews too. Not every review is a love letter, and the ones that are not are the ones that make us better. If you read only the glowing reviews of any shop, you are reading an advert, not a review.
Keith ordered an outfit last summer and did not hold back. “Unfortunately, the box did come pretty banged up. It looked like it went around the world and back, and no one cared what was in the box.” Worse, the faux leather suspenders on the outfit started to flake as soon as he dressed his doll.
Here is how his review ends: “The company reached back out and offered support and even requested that I can receive another outfit that was quickly mailed out to me.” He kept his five stars.

Couriers are rough in peak season. That is exactly why every doll travels with a clear shield over her face, in her own protective pouch. And if anything arrives damaged or wrong, we replace it. You should not have to argue for that.
Rhona wrote, “I love it! My only complaint is that the hair falls off a bit.” Another buyer mentioned “some mild shedding of the hair but I’m sure that’s normal.” She is right, it is normal. Rooted hair, especially long and thick hair, can release a few loose strands in the first weeks. Brush it gently with a soft brush, from the ends upwards, and it settles. Our doll hair guide and wigs page has more tips.
Rebecca bought a pair of shiny shoes and wrote, “Cheap buckle on shoes but cute.” Fair point. The little buckles on doll shoes are decorative, so treat them gently when you dress her.
A buyer named Deborah, writing in Spanish, told us the size surprised her. This is so useful for gift buyers. A Neo Blythe doll is about 28 cm, roughly 11 to 12 inches tall, with an oversized head. If you are not sure, read our guide to what a Blythe doll is before you order, or ask me in chat and I will send you a photo of a doll next to a mug.
You will find unhappy posts about almost every shop that has been around for 26 years, and we are no exception. I read them. Some are fair and we have learned from them. Some are about orders we cannot find in our system at all. My advice is simple: if you see a worry, ask us directly. Use the chat on any page, email [email protected], or read our full honest verdict on whether This Is Blythe is legit. We would much rather answer a hard question before you buy than after.
The most useful This Is Blythe reviews are the ones made by people with no reason to be nice to us. Here are a few you can check yourself.

See the dolls buyers love most
I have read thousands of This Is Blythe reviews, and what strikes me is how similar they are. Different countries, different languages, different alphabets, and the same three things keep coming up: she is beautiful, she arrived safely, thank you.
A German buyer wrote, “Die Puppe übertrifft meine Erwartung.” The doll exceeds my expectations. Zhanna wrote in Russian that she is a very beautiful doll, and thanked us for her. A Spanish-speaking buyer wrote, “La muñeca llegó a tiempo y es muy linda.” She arrived on time and she is very pretty.
